Chicago Workshop (June 19-20th, 2010 )

This two day workshop will be focused on honing your photography skills. If you are a beginner or an intermediate, this class is for you. The class size will be limited to 8 participants so that my assistant and I can work with you individually. We will cover such subjects as aperture priority, f-stops, exposure, speed, equipment selection, ethics, best practices, marketing, networking, etc. The cost of the workshop is $475.00 payable via PayPal or personal check. Online Digital Photography Critiques

This ongoing online workshop is available at anytime. Each student must have a digital camera with a basic understanding of how to use it. What I mean by basic is simply the ability to turn the camera on, point and shoot it. If you can manage those three things then you’ve met all the prerequisites for this program. I will give two homework assignments (for instance, take a portrait) then each student will email me their assignment for critique. I will in turn email back my thoughts, impressions, and suggestions. The basic idea is to take beginning photographers to the next level. I will be available via email to each student throughout the duration of the program (no worries about emailing too much). The cost of the program is a reasonable $50.00 and can be paid via PayPal or check. Please email me at john@batdorffphotography.com with any questions.

3 Month Mentorship Program

If you’re interested in honing your skills, getting honest feedback and direction, or beefing up your portfolio, then consider taking part in my 3 month mentorship program.

What you bring to the mentorship:

Digital SLR camera.
Appropriate imaging software (ie. Aperture, Photoshop, Lightroom).
Portfolio for assessment. (no portfolio? no problem!)
Specific goal(s).

What you’ll bring away from the mentorship:

Initial portfolio and equipment assessment.
2 detailed assignments per month tailored to your needs and schedule.
Continuous individual feedback and guidance through unlimited email or one-on-one phone calls.* If you choose to, you can talk with me and get immediate feedback, something online tutorials just can’t offer.
A final portfolio, a step up from where you began.

Private Lessons

Do you have a new camera and need some help? I can tailor a private three hour long class around your needs. The cost for a single person is $175.00 or bring a friend for $250.00.
